Krystal raised $2,179 in 30 days for the Saul Louis Community School!
A child of Haitian immigrants, Krystal Paulin always felt disconnected from her history through a language barrier. After the earthquake in 2010, she questioned how her monetary contributions made an impact. After deciding in 2019 she was ready to directly impact Haitian families, she was connected with Community2Community (C2C) and knew immediately that this organization aligned with her catalyst focused endeavors.
Believing that Education is key, Krystal connected with the C2C Education Initiative and plans to raise $1,804 (a nod to the year Haiti secured its independence) as C2C’s first C2C Champion.
Her Brick By Brick Fundraiser starts on her birthday, Thursday, April 18th and will run for 30 days!
A C2C Champion is someone who is committed to promoting the vision and mission of C2C: “Creating self-sufficient communities by working with the community”. A C2C Champion plans, develops, and initiates funding leads and fundraisers, which they self-identify to support C2C’s strategic plan.
Being a C2C champion means challenging myself to make the impact that I know I can make.
As a C2C Champion, Krystal hopes to engage her network, community, and extended networks to invest in the building of the Saul Louis Community School of our Mountainside Partner Community.
When asked, why C2C, Krystal said, “I chose C2C because they are aligned with my thinking on how we can support people in need while enriching their ability to make continuous progress. You can teach a man to fish but if you don’t start him out with the tools to do so it’s almost useless knowledge. I was happy to hear about the efforts made which allow people to be involved in the work to change their lives.”
We asked Krystal what does being a C2C Champion mean to her. Krystal said, “Being a C2C champion means challenging myself to make the impact that I know I can make. It means not limiting myself by thinking that I cannot act because of a language barrier, because of a distance barrier, because of a connection barrier, etc. Being a C2C Champion also means showing others that they can have an impact as well.”
We couldn’t have said it better. C2C is with you Krystal. We are #AllIn for #BrickByBrick.
